Dekhiba Para Aasa Re - Odissi Workshop

We warmly invite dancers and enthusiasts of Odissi to an immersive three-day intensive Abhinaya workshop in Bangalore, led by acclaimed Odissi dancer and teacher Lipsa Satpathy.

This special workshop will focus on the expressive choreography “Dekhiba Para Aasa Re”, a masterpiece created by the legendary Guru Guru Gangadhar Pradhan, one of the most influential architects of modern Odissi. His works are known for their emotional depth, lyrical beauty, and powerful storytelling through Abhinaya.

Over three intensive days, participants will delve deeply into the art of expression, exploring the subtle language of the eyes, face, and gestures that bring Odissi to life. Guided by Lipsa Satpathy—who carries forward the rich artistic lineage of her Guru—students will experience the deeper layers of the composition: the longing, devotion, anticipation, and delicate emotional shades of the nayika awaiting the sight of her beloved.

More than just learning choreography, this workshop is an opportunity to experience the philosophy, technique, and emotional intensity of Abhinaya in the Guru Gangadhar Pradhan tradition.
